The yatsushiro myokosai shrine is planned as a center for the preservation and transmission of local intangible folk cultural properties and for the promotion of exchange, including the nationally designated important intangible folk cultural property "yatsushiro myokosai no shinko event," which has been registered as a unesco intangible cultural heritage site. the building is located on the site of the former annex of the yatsushiro city kosei kaikan (6209 in this issue, designed by yoshinobu ashihara & associates). a path leading to the surrounding area runs between the two buildings. under the roof is an assembly of festival floats, set at a height that allows the floats to pass through.
