KOJI KAKIUCHI/YAOMITSU DESIGNING DEPARTMENT
Outline
This is a hut built on the foundation of a house left behind in the disaster area. The floor area is less than 10m2, which does not require a building permit, and the angle of the gassho has been changed to match the width of the foundation to accommodate a construction site that was undecided until the day of construction. The small and simple structure encourages the propagation of technology and triggers building activities in the region. Constructed by the Kansai Architects Volunteer "500,000 yen Project (Temporary Shelter)" funded by the Nippon Foundation's ROAD Project "Support Activities for the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster".
