This painting studio is located in a lush residential area in Gunma Prefecture. The main house (living space) is located on the same site and the studio is built on one side of it. The floor is created as the third topography reorganized by digging up the ground which was prepared by embankment. The space between the undulations of the floor and the horizontal plane created by the even arrangement of the joist beams is the studio. Art materials are arranged on the three-dimensional floor, and the artist works in the center of the floor.
