Outline
The building stands on the corner of a narrow alley in a residential area. In order to maintain a gentle relationship between the surrounding houses and the alley, the corner of the building is slightly offset from the corner of the alley, the building is set back without a wall, and the corners of the exterior walls are rounded. The corners of the exterior walls are rounded, and care is taken to allow people, wind, and light to pass through the alley smoothly. Because the surrounding area is densely populated, the first floor is surrounded by a courtyard, and the upper floor rooms have large windows on the second floor, high sidelights, and decks to bring the outside in.
