- A 150-year-old storehouse in Okukawa-go, Nishiaizu-cho, Fukushima prefecture, was renovated and converted into an art museum commemorating the late Toshii Furukawa, a teacher, local historian, and writer in the Aizu region. the museum was to preserve and exhibit several hundred of Furukawa's works, and to serve as a center for artistic exchange in a marginalized community.
