THE BIHAR MUSEUM
MAKI AND ASSOCIATES IN ASSOCIATION WITH OPOLIS, THE JAPANESE SWORD MUSEUM
- Outline
- This is the relocation plan of the Sword Museum which opened in Yoyogi in 1968. It was planned as a garden museum in the corner of the former Yasuda Garden. The structure consists of a cylindrical section and a wing section with a curved roof. The fair-faced concrete of the wing section is made of decorative plywood formwork, while that of the cylindrical section is made of solid cedar formwork, giving each component a different texture and shade.
