MORI OGAI MEMORIAL MUSEUM

This memorial hall is built on the site of the former residence "Kancho-ro" where the great writer Mori Ogai lived from 1892 to his death in 1922. Hongo Library, Ogai Memorial Room (Formerly, Ogai Memorial Hongo Library. The designer was selected through a proposal competition held in 2009 (this magazine 0906 NEWS). The bricks on the exterior walls are finished by shaving the surface thinly after being applied. Reinforced concrete construction, two stories above ground and two stories below ground.
