OBAKUSAN MAMPUKUJI BUNKADEN 2

Outline
This is an extension of the Bunka-den in Obaku-san Manpuku-ji Temple in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is open to the public twice a year (spring and autumn). 15 m on a side. The roof and pillars are made of 65 x 65 mm, considering the shape of the site and the narrow entrance. The roof and pillars are both made of 65 x 65 mm angles. Natural light is taken in through light ducts at the foot of the exterior walls. The textiles on the walls and ceiling are by Yoko Ando.
