Outline: A complex located near Mizonokuchi Station in Kawasaki City, comprising two residential units and six retail spaces. The rooftop slab features a canopy cast using formwork produced by a 3D printer. The layer of lightweight soil on the roof is 300–700 mm thick, with a depth of 1,000 mm only beneath the canopy, and it has been landscaped to harmonize with the mixed woodland on the site. The rooftop is open to the public—not just residents and stakeholders—and once the bridge extending to the rear of the site opens during the second phase of construction, people will be able to cross the rooftop to reach the neighborhood behind the building.
