Hankyu Kobe Sannomiya Station Square
Tsugawa + Pacific Consultants + Office of Yasushi Onodera + Nagumo Design + KAP
- Outline
- This is a pilot project for the redevelopment of Sannomiya, which is being promoted by Kobe City through a public-private partnership, and aims to create a pedestrian-centered city through plaza-like spaces. The station square (Sankita Square) is an elliptical leaning structure with various heights and slopes to accommodate an unspecified number of body dimensions, allowing users to find their own places. The adjacent shopping street is a promenade where pedestrians and cars coexist, and traffic is regulated, enhancing the circulation between the station and the town.
