PLATEAU
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism
- Outline
- This is a project led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to develop, utilize, and open data 3D city models with the aim of realizing a digital twin of all cities in Japan. Urban components such as buildings and infrastructure facilities are represented as 3D models that integrate data such as use, year of construction, and structure to enable a three-dimensional understanding of urban space. The upper image is a superimposition of an architectural model of Shinjuku City (Level of Detail: LOD2), satellite images, an underground shopping center model (LOD3), and urban facilities. The lower panel shows the population density of the entire Tokyo Metropolis and the urban model (LOD1).
