- The plan is to build a linear smart city 170 km long, 500 m high, and 200 m wide. The concept is to build up the city densely on a minimum site to prevent uncontrolled expansion of development. The first phase of construction is expected to be completed in 2030, but this huge "line" that crosses Saudi Arabia also poses issues of data management and environmental destruction.
