- A house built using the Massive Holtz construction method. The 12-cm-thick cedar squared timbers are glued together with screws to form a plane, taking advantage of the multifaceted functions of wood, such as strength, thermal insulation, heat storage, and humidity control. The entire structure is made of low-market-value lumber purchased directly from sawmills, and 45 m3 of lumber, about three times the volume of an ordinary house, was used. The adjacent Baumeister's house, built in 2021 (photo and drawing left, 2021), was designed to utilize large-diameter timbers with high yield.
