- Renzo Piano called it a "magic lantern," and it was inspired by the kaleidoscope-like changes of expression that occur during the day and night in Ginza. The custom-made Italian-made glass blocks create unevenness and fluctuation in the light. Technically, the building was made possible by the introduction of the latest vibration-damping structural system, special certification for fire-rated zones, and certification for the dry-type glass block curtain wall.
