Espace de L’Art Concret
Gigon / Guyer
- Outline
- This museum stands independently on the site of the Château de la Mouen-Sartoux. In order to leave as many trees as possible on the sloping site and to provide access from the surrounding area, the museum has a minimalist square plan with multiple overhanging approaches. The light from the multiple windows and the scenery outside create a variety of environments in the white exhibition space. The light-sensitive, bright yellow-green exterior wall is intended to contrast with its surroundings, but also to harmonize with the green covering over time. Through color, architecture becomes an "instrument of perception.
