Moriyama House

Outline
A housing complex consisting of 10 buildings of slightly smaller or larger volume than a single-family house. Owner-occupied and rental units are dispersed across the buildings, each with its own small garden and alley. Large openings in the thin steel plate walls give the impression of transparency and lightness, such as the view of the sky beyond the neighboring buildings. The staggered openings convey a sense of presence and privacy, and the buildings are arranged in continuity with the surrounding environment.
