Lingotto Factory Conversion
Renzo Piano
- Outline
- The Fiat automobile factory (1921), which was highly regarded from a functionalist point of view, was rehabilitated as a complex facility. While retaining the ramp and the rooftop test track, the large space houses an exhibition hall and other facilities. The glass sphere that protrudes from the roof to house the conference rooms became a new symbol of Turin's development in the automobile industry.
