The Peak Competition

Outline
The structure is composed of horizontal layers as if to break the mountainside: apartments on the first and second levels, penthouses on the fourth and fifth levels, and club facilities such as a snack bar and gymnasium suspended in the void of the third level, which is connected by a ramp in a suprematist form. The project deviated from the competition rules and was left out of the competition, but Arata Isozaki, a member of the jury, picked it up and selected it for the Grand Prize. Although the project was later abandoned, the drawings foreshadowed the arrival of a new architecture.
