Nakagin Capsule Tower
Kisho Kurokawa
- Outline
- As a proposal for a second house in the city center, this housing complex consists of 140 capsules, each approximately 2.5 meters wide and high and 4 meters deep, attached to a core shaft, which compactly contain functions such as unit baths and beds. It was envisioned as a realization of "metabolism," but the capsules were not replaced, and some of them were relocated and dismantled in 2022.
