- The monumental glass and marble exterior emphasizes the verticality of the bank and is intended to blend in with the surrounding buildings while expressing the bank's solidity. In order to preserve the historic district, the low-rise portion of the building was filled in and the high-rise portion was reduced to half its original area. The total design includes the Banker's Clock, a new product at the time designed by Jacobsen, the VOLA faucet, and the Lilly chair. Stone slabs from the demolished old building were reused for the courtyard pavement.
