Kanagawa Museum of Modern Art
Junzo Sakakura
- Outline
- Located within the precincts of Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, this cultural facility was designed with a philosophy of active harmony with the environment. The second floor, which looms over the pond on the south face, and the spatial composition that intersects the interior and exterior embody this philosophy, and the natural materials used in key locations, such as the Oya stone on the first floor exterior wall and the Izu stone at the foot of the pilotis, further reinforce the impression.
