- The rubble of the existing church, which was almost completely destroyed in the war, was used for the exterior walls, and the building was reconstructed with a sense of materiality. Schwarz saw the potential in reusing rubble as a means of preserving the spirit and history of the existing building. In the construction of the building, he overcame many difficult challenges, such as the brickwork, which included decorative shapes, and realized the project.
