- In the sixth volume of The Complete Works of Le Corbusier (1957), Le Corbusier juxtaposed the site and completion photographs of Longchamp in the same composition. The site photo shows pilgrims gathering at the foot of the hill from ancient times, and exposes the masonry that reused stones from the cathedral destroyed in the war. The two cathedrals composed on the pages of the magazine tell a double story, one of the free and wild flight of form and the other of the indigenous memory left behind in the rubble.
