Eifukuji Kindergarten
Kiyonori Kikutake
- Outline
- This work is a conversion of an existing one-story wooden building that used to be a laboratory at the Bridgestone Tire Plant into a kindergarten. The main parts of the structure, such as the frame and fittings, have been reused. Kikutake's practice of dismantling and reusing wooden buildings in the 1950s led him to the realization of the "replacement" system, which facilitates the metabolism of a building due to the interchangeability of its components.
