- The building's expression like a traditional Japanese wooden frame was realized in concrete, and the eaves-like structure supporting the overhanging balcony and the four-sided hall-like plan were explored and pursued while keeping in mind the traditions of concrete. The lobby on the first floor features a ceramic mural by Genichiro Inokuma and furniture by Isamu Kenmochi, and is integrated with the open pilotis and south garden to create a space where people can come and go as they please. While maintaining the concept of an "open government building," the building was retrofitted with seismic retrofitting in 2020.
