- The Factory Manufactured Housing Association, which was established in October 1946, soon after the end of the war, was formed by 20 companies from the shipbuilding and aircraft manufacturing industries with the aim of mass-producing high-quality standardized housing. The longest-lasting product of the association was Sanin Kogyo's wood panel construction housing, PREMOS, designed by Maekawa and others, which produced about 1,000 units, mostly for coal mine housing.
