MIT Baker House Dormitory

Outline
A student dormitory designed by Aalto at MIT, where he taught at the time. The building meanders widely to ensure views of the river and daylight, and is set back from the main road in front of it. The rough brick facade he chose, the limestone in the common room, and the wood cladding on the structural columns show his exploration of materials.
