- The Eameses' own residence. The house was constructed using steel columns, lattice beams, deck plates, steel sashes, and other building materials and components for non-residential buildings that were sold off-the-shelf in the United States at the time, in order to build a house from a selection of catalogs. Eames also designed household goods and furniture using plywood (molded plywood), which he developed for medical braces during the war.
