- W. Chrysler, the founder of a company that led the automobile industry, purchased the land from a developer in Coney Island, and W. V. Allen made it the tallest skyscraper in the world at 319 meters when it was completed. The combination of the zigzag pattern and curves of the stainless steel lancet, with its continuous decreasing arches and illuminated triangular windows, is symbolic as a representative of Art Deco.
