Empire State Building
Shreve, Lamb, and Harmon
- Outline
- The Empire State Company, founded by J.J. Raskob and P.S. du Pont de Nemours and Company, took over the number one position in the world only one year after the completion of the Chrysler Building. Since 2006, the building has been undergoing a strategic renovation to make it a green building, and in 2010, energy-saving improvements were made to the building, including thermal insulation for the windows. The building is a world-class example of sustainable upgrading of a skyscraper.
