- Although the building was constructed by the Ministry of the Imperial Household, the interior decoration of the main reception space on the first floor and His Highness' study and living room on the second floor was designed by Lapin, a leading Art Deco designer. Many of the interior materials were made in France and brought to Japan. The glass relief door at the main entrance is by René Lalique. This building was later converted into the official residence of the Prime Minister, the State Guest House, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum.
