- The cemetery was built in the most damaged area of the city to house the remains of those who perished in the Great Kanto Earthquake, and is a RC structure in the old Japanese religious style, using Chinese and Indian styles. Later, the remains of those who lost their lives in the Tokyo Air Raid were also placed in the hall, and now approximately 160,000 people are resting in the hall.
