- This is Japan's only Western-style palace built for the Crown Prince. The realization of this highly finished Western-style building gave Japanese architects of the time confidence that they had completed their study of stylistic architecture. From the beginning, emphasis was placed on the function of a guest house rather than a residence, and after Togo Murano's renovation in 1974, the building is now used as a guest house.
