RYUICHI ASHIZAWA ARCHITECT & ASSOCIATES
- Outline
- This project converted two glasshouses that had been used as cultivation facilities and conference rooms into a café and kids' area. The industrial glasshouses were incorporated with agricultural thatched houses. Eruptive stones and earthen walls placed around the café's perimeter serve as earth retaining walls, and a variety of plants were planted in a circular pattern. The planting plan was based on the concept of companion plants (plants that have a positive influence on each other when grown in close proximity).
