- A vacant two-story steel-frame house that was a factory until five years ago was renovated as a shared office for people engaged in community development activities in Yonezawa. The existing building was broken down into an inverted L-shaped volume and a T-shaped steel structure. The inverted L-shaped volume (2nd floor, partly 1st floor) was used as a machi-studio for the shared office, and the platform was placed in the 1st floor pilotis where the T-shaped structure appears.
