Designed by architect Atsuji Fujii (1888-1938), Fujii's own residence was built in 1928. After the damage caused by the earthquake in northern Osaka in 2018 and Typhoon No. 21, a plan for preservation and utilization of the building was formulated. After the damage caused by the earthquake in northern Osaka in 2018 and typhoon 21, a preservation and utilization plan was formulated, which included the preservation and repair of the bookstore, quiet room, and tea ceremony room, the maintenance of disaster prevention facilities such as a water gun, and the maintenance of the exterior garden as part of the tourism base development project, and now the building has been restored to its original condition.
