Outline: This project involved the construction of a new main dining room and the renovation of an existing restaurant at a resort hotel (Bella Vista Spa & Resort Onomichi) in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The main dining room is a hybrid structure using steel and wood assemblies with extremely small cross sections. The trusses are made of almost the same size (45 mm thick and half-split 22.5 mm thick) local pine wood, and the dimensions are unified in order to homogenize the structural space.
