- An elementary school in Yamaga City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Yamaga Elementary School and Kawabe Elementary School are planned to be integrated and closed due to the merger of municipalities. The elementary school has 680 children. The wooden structure that supports the roof can be constructed with thin members because the wood is not subjected to bending loads in various spaces. The building is open to the community and is also the site of the Yamaga Lantern Festival. The learning street is used by local people.
