ICHIHARA ART MUSEUM RENOVATION PROJECT

Outline
Renovation of a hill overlooking Lake Takataki in the inland area of Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture, and a reinforced concrete building standing there. We renovated the building by utilizing its unique framework, including the existing arc-based plan and the three-dimensional circulation path with slopes and stairs. The glass curtain wall and the interior and exterior finishes that separate the building from the surrounding environment were removed, and a new wall named "Art Wall" was installed as if it were sewn into the concrete frame.
