ASHIKITA COMMUNITY HALL
WORKSTATION
- Outline
- "This exchange center is positioned as part of the Kumamoto Art Police Project. The thin structure resembling woven baskets made of locally produced laminated cedar creates a large span space inside. The curved exterior walls on the indoor side of the building form a plane that blends in with the irregular contours of the site, and also serve to reduce the thrust of the roof. The outdoor restroom, constructed earlier, uses a structure of woven cedar boards.
