House in Kanagorin
Mitsuru Sato/SATO+ARCHITECTS
- Outline
- The house stands in the space left between an agricultural irrigation canal and residential lots. Carrying on the historical context of the surrounding area, the design features a continuous row of greenhouse pipes along the southern approach to the house, with a greenhouse itself situated on the northeast side. These greenhouse pipes serve as supports for shade cloth and plantings. The spaces flow seamlessly from the interior to the semi-exterior and then to the exterior, allowing daily life to spill out as if the paved path alongside the irrigation canal were an extension of the property itself.
