The Stable and the Orange Barn
Nobuyasu Hattori+Shota Koga
- Outline
- The main house is positioned at a 45-degree angle on the flag portion of the flagpole-shaped lot, while the triangular-plan barn fits into the southwest corner of the site. The barn was designed as a semi-outdoor space with no fixed purpose, to be used as the owner's private salon, among other things. The large gable roof consists of a timber frame with a frontage of 5,904mm and a pitch of 606mm, supported by braces and steel pipe tie rods attached to it. All lighting fixtures and handrails were custom-made.
