Villa Boso
Kenichi Teramoto
- Outline
- The villa stands on a long east-west site that was developed about 50 years ago. The wooden gabled structure with a girder length of 13 ken and a beam length of 2.5 ken was built on small-diameter steel pipe piles, and the floor was raised to cope with the humid environment of the Boso region. No concrete was used, and the exterior design was kept to a minimum, with only broken stone covering the ground surface directly below the building. Inside, the cycloid curve of the ceiling connects seamlessly with the walls.
