Outline: This is a residence for a man who lives alone, built on a site of less than 3.5 square meters left over from the land acquisition for the construction of an elevated railroad line that runs to the south of the site. A spiral staircase leading to the upper floors was built in the center of the building, and its pillars and treads were enlarged to create clues to a new place of residence, blurring the boundary between the line of flow and the living space. In consideration of privacy, the arrangement and type of openings were designed so that the number of floors and types of rooms cannot be seen from the outside at a glance.
