House in Seto “the City with Geometric Motifs”

Outline: A house for a family of four built in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. The octagonal star-shaped exterior volume, created by shifting the square floors on the first and second floors, was raised based on the fact that tile decorations and reliefs with geometric motifs are found throughout the city. The same raised windows are repeated on the walls. Although the windows are not large, they are oriented in multiple directions, and when viewed simultaneously, they create an expanse like a composite photograph.
