Large Roof House

Makoto Tanijiri+Ai Yoshida+Katsuya Igarashi / SPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE

Outline: It stands on a Y-junction between a busy street on the northwest side and a sidewalk in a residential area used by neighbors. A large roof was erected to protect the house from the surrounding view and sound. An inner terrace, a semi-exterior space with a vaulted ceiling, was built on the east side of the site to create a diverse relationship with the external environment within the house.
