Flower and Roots
Ikimono Architects
- Outline
- The house is built on a gentle south-facing slope at the foot of a mountain. The topography of the garden rises gently toward the entry corner of the L-shaped building, and part of it is raised, creating the appearance of a hill. The selection and random arrangement of 66 tree species in the garden was intended to create a diverse yet wild landscape like a field or thicket, based on rough management that emphasizes natural growth. The interior floor rises to match the undulations of the garden, and the ceiling rises with it.
