Five Gate House
Junji Hasegawa Architects Inc.
- Outline
- The site is a vast paddy field area dotted with farmhouses, and the dwellings exist within the "enclosure" surrounding the site. The site is surrounded by block walls, and by combining five large and five small gate-shaped frames, the interrelationship with the enclosure, which is the contour of the land, is established and permeates the approach, the interior and exterior floors, and the partitions. The "many surfaces" characteristic of the gatefolds is also applied to the creation of a thermal environment, and the Doma Don system is used to create a space with no temperature difference.
