"Iron" House
Kengo Kuma & Associates
- Outline
- The house has a monocoque structure like a railway carriage, using corrugated iron plates for civil engineering of 3.2mm thick and 100mm long. By using hollow polycarbonate for the interior walls, the bending of the steel plates can be felt inside, but the strength of the exterior and the softness of the interior are symmetrical. The house has an L-shape because the site is a flagpole with a height difference of 6m.
