- The 30-year-old nagoya branch of asanuma gumi was renovated while making use of the existing frame and experimenting with the use of natural materials. the facade is made of 130-year-old yoshino cedar logs. the logs were unseasoned, back-split, and secured with upper and lower plates. the eaves on each floor are strong enough to be used as workshops, and the logs can be removed by a temporary crane.
